Our Take: It is not affordable for everyone, but certainly everyone's dream machine whether they admit it or not



One of the most desirable feature of an Alienware is the distinct Alienware badge. It used to be the only distinguishable mark of an Alienware laptop is the Alien head decal at the back of the laptop <click here>. The new Alienware m15x with an extreme makeover has added an new distinct look at the front edge. Rather than your standard squared of box like look, the new M15x, has an angled automotive-inspired grille complete with adjustable glowing lights through the Alienware fusion FX lighting. The addition of the Grill gives the laptop an even menacing look and makes a very strong impression even before you fire up a single game on this high-end core i7 based beauty. It's one of the best looking laptops available on the market and is incredibly well built with plenty of metal and hard matte-plastics used in its construction. Like every Alienware machine, the M15x doesn’t come cheap, but if you have the means you won’t be disappointed.



The M15x is one seriously fast laptop. The Core i7-720QM’s default clockspeed of just 1.6GHz might not sound that quick on paper, but Intel’s Turbo Boost technology saves the day. Depending on how many of its four processing cores are in use, it’s capable of ramping up the processor as far as 2.8GHz. We have posted some benchmarks below for your reference.







What can not be shown on the benchmarks is that our CoolTOYZ configured model comes with the 9-cell battery for more endurance when away from a wall outlet. Based on DvD Playback test the battery is able to provide 145minutes which is remarkable for such a powerful desktop-like configuration!
