Our Take: When we received our first batch of HDX our reactions was - Mind Boggling!. We did not expect such a feature packed system even if the HDX16 is marketed by HP as the higher-end systems. Not satisfied with, HP upgraded the HDX16-1370US with the latest nVidia GeForce GT 130M.

PCMAG.COM: The 16-inch widescreen belongs to a new breed of screens moving from a 16:10 to a 16:9 aspect ratio, as is common with HDTVs and films. Transitioning to a different widescreen format has both benefits and drawbacks. One downside is that the HDX16t, at 6.8 pounds, is heavier than a previous model, the HP Pavilion dv5t, by half a pound, and you lose the extra centimeter's worth of vertical viewing space there was with dv5t's 15.4-inch screen. Notebookreview.com (User review): I play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare online, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Civilization 4 and pretty much anything else I want to on this laptop without anything going wrong. It does not over-heat, and runs those games at playable resolutions and with high frames per second. It does play them at the highest resolutions (everything on, and 1366x768) smoothly, I just chose to use a smaller resolution so it runs the smoothest and stays cooler than at full resolution. The HP HDX 16 has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes to play games but also needs more than just a video card. The HP HDX 16 is a very well rounded machine that does everything I ask of it. If you want to play games online, do video editing, program or just surf the Internet, or everything simultaneously; this laptop is definitely for you. <click here>

itreviews.co.uk: The full-size keyboard, with separate number pad, has metalized key tops and the beautifully engineered touchpad has a polished steel surface, which is delightful to use. To the right of the touchpad is a fingerprint reader, so there's no excuse for leaving accessible data on a bus, train or bar-stool. Behind the keyboard is a polished metal strip containing touch controls for audio, so you can slide your finger left and right to change volume or tone. Round the HDX16's edges are all the normal sockets, such as USB and FireWire, but there's also gigabit Ethernet, HDMI video (as well as VGA) and eSATA and a five-in-one card reader. There's even a slot to take the miniature remote control, provided for Windows Vista Media Centre and HP's own MediaSmart application. <click here>
