Part I - Our Take: We have long wanted to sell the HP Mininote. Hands down, the HP Mininote is the most elegant and sexiest UMPC (a definite Carla Bruni). In addition, almost every review site has said that among the UMPCs the HP Mini offers one of the best keyboard. What had stopped us from selling the HP Mini is our fixation with UMPCs with Extended Batteries. From the time we started selling Ultra-mobile PCs or UMPC <click here> in March 2007 we have maintained the opinion that a UMPC is intended to be a 2nd computer or a traveling companion; for us the package would not be complete if the UMPC can not provide extremely long battery life. We issue a reminder that "Portability" is difference from "mobility"; to be mobile a Portable PC must have battery endurance. With that stated, we present the HP Mini 110 XP Edition with a 6-cell battery. As an introduction we quote Laptop magazine -> "It’s not perfect, but the new HP Mini 110 is definitely the company’s best netbook for consumers yet. HP has addressed our biggest complaints with the earlier Mini 1000 (no VGA port, small and slow hard drive)...”

The HP Mini 110 was officially launched May 27, 2009. <click here> with this specific HP Mini 110 XP variant made available to the market on June 10, 2009. Kudos to HP Philippines by making it possible that in less than a month from launch, the model is in Philippine shores. To explain our choice of the HP Mini 110-1013TU as our recommended UMPC, in Part II we will describe Five(5) aspects that impressed us.

To all those who have sent us emails to ask why we have stopped selling UMPCs… it is because we have been waiting for a gorgeous model with unique features to hit the market. Given these first hand experience, we are proud to endorse this HP 110 Xp as the CoolTOYZ choice as the "Best Buy" UMPC in the market at this time.
