HP is well known for making stylish consumer notebooks, but today HP decided it was about time that business notebooks started looking cool too. HP today announced the new "ProBook" brand of affordable business notebook PCs that combine business features from the EliteBook series with "sophisticated design to stand out from the crowd”. Inspired by minimalism, the design of the new HP ProBook series combines matte and glossy surfaces while stripping out the extraneous, leaving only a stylish and clean look. The HP Probook Notebook PC Line laptop is for the business and corporate users who also consider gadgets and laptops as style statements.



According to Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager, Notebook Global Business Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP. “it’s not just about good looks or low cost, the HP ProBooks deliver the right blend of features and professional innovations to provide a great user experience.” The processor on this model is Intel's Core2 Duo T6570 rated at 2.0Ghz with 2mb L2 Cache and a blazing fast 800Mhz Front Side Bus. The Core2 T6570 is not know to be the fastest processor, instead as part of the Core2 Family it provides excellent power management, no wonder this system was able to last 180minutes(3Hours!!!) on DvD playback. The processor is more than capable to handle business and student needs, in fact navigating between multiple tabs of internet explorer was no problem and the performance is not sluggish by any means. As validation of the capability of the processor we use Vista to measure the performance of each component via the Windows Experience Index (WEI). As posted below, the Core T6570(2.0) actually has the highest rating among all the components in this HP Probook 4410s.



The Probook 4410 offers a awesome Non-Glossy 14.0-inch High Definition 16:9(1366x768) LED-backlit HD display. Allow us to explain the jargon.
a) Non-glossy or Matte means the display is not reflective like consumer notebooks. Non reflective screen is suitable for brightly lit work environments as it cuts down the glares, unlike consumer laptops with super reflective LCDs. If you are irritated by the reflection on your current Laptop display, you will understand why a matte screen is desirable. Watching movies or showing off slides to a couple of people is a pleasure with this screen.
b) HD or High Definition means the display panel offers the 16:9 ratio. The 16:9 resolution is ideal for playing DvD movies because there are less black bars above and below the movie. However when using word and excel or surfing the web, you get less Height meaning more scrolling down to read the whole document. Where the 16:9 display benefits business users is that the wider format allows for more space when viewing documents and spreadsheets side-by-side.
c) LED or Light Emitting Diode means you get improved brightness, contrast and clarity from a screen that is more power-efficient than regular LCD screens. This is a notch above the regular LCD panels and is sure to please.

The screen is critical to make an excellent business laptop. For one a display can not be upgraded. More importantly because business users often spend 8-to-10 hours a day in front of the computer and with an inferior display it is easy to get eye strain. The non-reflective display and LED backlight make sure the business user will not need to worry about the display quality; the Matte display is absolutely superb!



One of the greatest attraction of the Probook laptop is its keyboard layout which is a island style keyboard, a ifirst from HP’s factory. The layout is visually open and spacious with keys raised from the surface [Chicklet type]. Usability is the same as with traditional keyboards and the raised surface means fewer places for dirt and dust to hide making it easy to clean and more maintenance free than ever before. The keyboard is similar that offered on the macbook models. The spill resistant keyboard layout gives an additional feather to the glamor of the laptop. The keys are slightly textured, have scratch resistant finish and the spacing is comfortable.



The 4410s offers professional innovations previously found only on higher-priced models. There is every port that you should need whether you are a professional or a student. Above the LCD is the webcam with a good 2.0 MP Resolution. The lighting and was pleasant and details were very good. On the left side of the laptop there is a Gigabit Ethernet port, VGA Out, HDMI, Express Card/34 slot, and two USB Ports. There are two more USB on the right side accompanied by a modem under rubber flap, a multi-format Dvd±Writer Dual Layer offers Lightscribe label technology to create custom laser-etched disc labels right in the drive using any scanned image and/or text. The 5-in-1 memory card reader slot, headphone and microphone jacks are at the front panel and there is nothing other than the battery and the hinges in the back panel. For Wireless connectivity WiFi 5100 (802.11ABGN) and Bluetooth 2.0 are also available.

What else is there to say? Hp has done it again and has succeeded in offering a Business Class laptop with style and all the features a mobile user will need. Overall the HP ProBook series delivers HP’s best combination of business features, functionality and value.
